TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOU AND YOUR BUSINESS?
I've been working in the events industry for over 10 years, and officially started what is now The Wednesday Wedding Co 4 years ago! I also have a background in live theatre and film, where I developed the improvisational skills and fortitude needed for event production and design. I love the adrenal rush and creative fulfillment of the work I do!
WHICH CHAPEL HAS BEEN YOUR FAVOURITE?
Honestly I have loved them all. If I had to choose one my favourite would be the lemon chapel we did at Hycroft. We had the most amazing couples and really fun setup. OR the first chapel I ever did. It was so exciting and I just couldn't get over how cool it was. I rode a high for like a week after.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT WORKING IN THE WEDDING INDUSTRY?
I love getting to meet so many amazing people and help tell their stories in ways they could have never imagined. I love empowering couples to make decisions based on what they want and who they are rather than what they think they need to do.
IF YOU COULD DESIGN A CHAPEL, HOW WOULD IT LOOK?
Where to even begin…
HOW IS THE CHAPEL EXPERIENCE DIFFERENT FROM YOUR TYPICAL WORK?
Well for starters we usually only marry one couple a day-- not 10! But I love how open the couples are to the concept and the design. At the end of the day they just want to get married in a super cool, affordable, eco friendly way. Everything else is just a bonus. I love seeing how different each couple is and their face when they see the design for the first time! So fun!
TELL US ABOUT HOW YOUR BRAND ALIGNS WITH THE POP-UP CHAPEL VALUES: SIMPLICITY, INCLUSIVITY, SUSTAINABILITY & SOCIAL CONSCIOUSNESS?
We celebrate all types of love and value inclusivity, are conscious in our designs and try to repurpose and reuse as much as possible, as well as provide packages to our couples that are all inclusive and make it a super fun experience.
WHAT US SOMETHING YOU ARE WORKING ON THESE DAYS OR SOMETHING YOU ARE EXCITED ABOUT AND WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH THE COMMUNITY?!
We empower our couples to do away with the old school expectations/traditions that can make weddings and wedding planning tedious and impersonal. Our couples are focused on who they are and what they value, regardless of what social media, movies, family etc. are telling them. Our planning and design is born from the most pure desire to celebrate each couple's unique story in a way that is always elevated and honest. As a result, we do a lot of custom builds and create bespoke pieces so that no two weddings are the same.
