TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOU AND YOUR BUSINESS?
I’m Liz and I live on a rural property just outside of Toronto with my husby Jason and our three cats, Salem, Merlin and Willow. You can catch me watching live music at the Horseshoe Tavern after eating loads of noodles before dancing the night away. I also love taking it slow, putting on a classic rock record or an 80s movie with the fireplace going. I have the travel bug and always love finding new places to explore!
I began my photography career in the music industry photographing bands like Florence and the Machine and Dave Matthews Band before I dove into the wedding industry. My Nonna and Nonno were very inspiring for me and have an incredible love story (you can read more about on my website) that kick-started my wedding journey. Now I’m an Ontario based wedding photographer that travels worldwide and I’ve been photographing weddings for 13 years. I specialize in candid moments and absolutely love the photographs that are outside of the limelight. Laughs with Grandma, kiddos running wild and couples sharing romantic looks when no one is watching. I have so much fun with my couples while guiding them through the photo planning process and I love being their #1 cheerleader, always on their side. I always print albums for my couples because I value creating tangible memories that they can look back on and pass down to their community or next generation.
WHICH CHAPEL HAS BEEN YOUR FAVOURITE?
My favourite Chapel has been the Evergreen Brick Works location. I love the combination of nature with rustic architecture and the many photo options available to couples. It’s so much fun to guide couples to different environments and be creative with various backdrops!
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT WORKING IN THE WEDDING INDUSTRY?
I love working in the wedding industry, it’s truly such an honour to be welcomed into people’s lives with open arms and capture their life story, their memories. I feel blessed to be able to not only witness these moments of joy but capture them so they can be remembered forever. There’s nothing like reminiscing over an album with your friends and family throughout the years, glass of wine in hand while belly laughing.
IF YOU COULD DESIGN A CHAPEL, HOW WOULD IT LOOK?
I love the natural landscape of Ontario so if I were to design a Chapel it would be in the middle of a forest or on a beach. Simple arch design with a cute rug and a mobile vintage bar, perfect!
HOW IS THE CHAPEL EXPERIENCE DIFFERENT FROM YOUR TYPICAL WORK?
The Chapel is so unique because it gives couple’s an opportunity to get married in a unique way that steers away from typical weddings. It’s perfect for the city couple that wants a fast but stunning simple wedding without all the stress, bells and whistles. If you’re someone who practices sustainability and likes to give back this is another amazing opportunity to do so. The Chapel always gives back to a charity and the small and simple designs used by multiple couples in one or two days is a great way to recycle and minimize waste! This is one of my favourite things about the Chapel, I really value sustainability and giving back so I appreciate this option in an industry that is typically very wasteful.
TELL US ABOUT HOW YOUR BRAND ALIGNS WITH THE POP-UP CHAPEL VALUES: SIMPLICITY, INCLUSIVITY, SUSTAINABILITY & SOCIAL CONSCIOUSNESS?
One of my core company values is sustainability. I offer recycled paper fine art prints and my albums and prints are made locally. These are just some of the ways I incorporate sustainability into my business! We align on all of our values and that is why I keep coming back to photograph for them. If you can’t tell yet, I really love the Chapel!
WHAT US SOMETHING YOU ARE WORKING ON THESE DAYS OR SOMETHING YOU ARE EXCITED ABOUT AND WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH THE COMMUNITY?!
I’d love to share that I’ll be officially shifting my wedding business and brand over to elopement photography for 2023! My goal is to inspire couples to elope in Ontario and beyond. There are so many beautiful places to explore and adventure in and I’m so excited to share all my inside tips on how to craft your day and make it uniquely you!!
