On June 23rd and 24th we welcomed 14 wonderful couples to our new 2022 lakeside Chapel Venue, The Henley Room in Toronto. This spot quickly became one of our favourites!

Our team was excited to spend the day basking in the beautiful waterfront view that surrounded our Chapel guests as they watched their loved ones say I do. The Henley Room is truly a hidden gem that gives you that cozy cottage feel without leaving the city. Not to mention it’s THE spot for some gorgeous portraits by the water!

Another thing we love about Henley Room is that it truly is a blank canvas allowing us to get creative and play with colour. For this whimsical Chapel design, we used some asymmetrical wood planks and combined them with vivid pops of purple and blue to create this watercolour backdrop inspired by the beautiful view of lake Ontario! And of course our Chapel designs could never be complete without some stunning florals to really bring the design to life. We are always thrilled when we get to invite our talented florist, Maria, from Narcissus & Echo Floral to work her magic on our designs, and she added tons of romantic and vibrant florals to perfect our vision! The bold blue and purple hues that filled our Chapel worked perfectly with our elegant and timeless white lounge.

Our couples were welcomed into their intimate ceremony space to the sweet sound of our duo from Next Level Entertainment. Our kind officiants, Leonard Nolasco , Kelley Potter, and Juliana Belinko, pulled at our heartstrings, and helped our couples exchange some intimate vows. As our couples walked down the aisle as newlyweds, our team had a celebratory toast of Sparkling Fresh Wines waiting for them.

During our cocktail hours, our guests got to exchange some toasts with some locally produced riesling, sparkling, and red wine from Lakeview Wine Co. Our guests also got the chance to crack open some refreshing sparkling fruit cider from Viveau, and ice cold premium pilsner from the one and only Steam Whistle Brewery. Our guests were amazed by the cakes from Olivia Yang Cake Studio which not only looked beautiful and matched our decor, but they also came in delicious flavours like salted caramel and chocolate chai! But the Chapel treats don’t stop there because we also had a yummy Purplesful Snacking popcorn bar, and lots of Courage Cookies that are literally melt in your mouth delicious!

After sharing some hugs and snapping photos with their loved ones during coaktail hour, our couples got to join our Photographers Alex (Frances Rose West), Liz (The Organic Moment) , Rachael Reid, and Rita Kravchuk as they explored around the area for the best photo moments by stunning lake Ontario. With the help of our wonderful couples who challenge the ordinary and choose to get married in our Pop-Up Chapels, as well as our talented vendors who help us run the event flawlessly, we were able to donate a total of $4200 to two wonderful charitable organizations. On day one we were able to donate a total of $1200 to Sick Kids which is Canada’s largest, hospital-based child health research institute dedicated to improving the health of children. On day two we continued our outreach and raised a total of $3000 to Afghan Womens Organization who work to improve the quality of life and to promote the social and economic inclusion of refugees and immigrants (particularly those who have experienced wars and persecution). We love being able to share all of the love we receive and witness at the Chapels, and leaving a meaningful legacy on behalf of our couples!
