CHAPEL RECAP: JUNE 9, 2023
On June 9th, for the first time ever, we brought the Chapel to The University Club of Toronto, a heritage building in the heart of the city’s downtown core. The club is adorned with grand fireplaces, timeless Canadian art, and an iconic spiral staircase, which set the tone for a very special day. Three couples exchanged vows, while two couples captured their love through an engagement photoshoot.
Make Lemonade provided gorgeous colourful arrangements to bring our bright, Bridgerton vision to life in this historic and regal venue. The pink and yellow blooms cascaded around the fireplace, and vintage teacups held roses all around the Chapel space. The room was decorated with bar and furniture rentals from Event Rental Group, providing the victorian style lounge to accompany our custom Chapel sign.
Kim Adeney led the couples through heartfelt ceremonies, as her warm and genuine presence always creates an atmosphere of love and joy. The Toronto Jazz Collective set the mood with their soulful melodies, creating an ambiance of romance and elegance. Their enchanting music filled the air, adding an extra layer of magic to the already captivating event.
Capturing the essence of the Chapel were Cassie Cetlin and Alicia Thurston, two incredibly talented photographers. Their keen eyes and creative vision immortalized the love and happiness shared by the couples, ensuring that these precious moments would be cherished forever.
Once the knots were tied, guests headed into the cocktail hour. They toasted with their choice of Fresh Wines, Shiny Cider, Steam Whistle, Darling Mimosa and Gruvi non-alcoholic beverages. They snacked on Courage Cookies and Purplesful Popcorn, and when the time came, the couples cut their cakes provided by the incredibly talented Kwento, a local bakery known for their detailed creations.
The couples who were married on June 9th also contributed to the Dawson & Frankie Memorial Fund, providing essential infant supplies to families of Toronto in need, including blankets, diapers, wipes & toiletries - what a special way to begin a marriage!
