CHAPEL RECAP: JULY 15TH, 2022

Take a trip to the beautiful and serene British Columbia, where on July 15th, we hosted an over-the-rainbow Chapel for four amazing couples. With its reputation for rainy days, Vancouver made the perfect location for our multicoloured Chapel because, as we know…you can’t have a rainbow without a bit of rain. Read below to discover how we created an unforgettable experience somewhere over the rainbow!

We love being able to host Chapels across Canada, and we also love being able to bring Morgan and her team from Wednesday Wedding Co. in on the fun. The WWCo. team always run flawless Vancouver Chapels, and we couldn’t be luckier to have had them bring their vibrant vision to life. The day started by heading down to the seaside venue, The Wallace. This venue was perfect, as it provided a blank canvas where we could add pops of every colour. With its open concept, natural sunlight, and seaside views, The Wallace was transformed into a whimsical escape for our couples.

As our Chapel guests entered the Chapel, they were greeted by a gorgeous hand-painted welcome sign by Jezra Design Co. With a bold colour palette and show-stopping vibrant florals crafted by Max from Ecorce Flowers, this Chapel gave our guests the full polychromatic experience, and the vibe was off the charts! As our couples made their way down the aisle, they were fully immersed in a kaleidoscope of colours. Danny Gashco serenaded each couple with his angelic guitar playing and sang some incredible love songs. Then, our couples recited their intimate vows in front of a floating floral backdrop resembling a dreamy cloud. With the help of our wonderful officiants from Young Hip & Married, each ceremony felt as fun and unique as our design.

After each of our couples shared a magical first kiss as newlyweds, they walked down the aisle and were welcomed by a first toast of locally produced wine by Backyard Vineyard. Our guests cheered on our couples with lots of hugs and well wishes, then they got to cheer them on with ice-cold beers from Steam Whistle Brewery. To go along with our fully stocked bar, we set up a table of treats including Rainbow inspired kettle corn. Although our table would not be complete without the main event… our zesty lemon squares making for a perfect sweet treat!

For this Vancouver-based Chapel, we partnered with Mission Possible, who supports individuals with a history of homelessness, trauma, mental health challenges, or substance use, to gain meaningful employment. Mission Possible transforms lives by helping people experience renewed dignity and purpose. Mission Possible creates jobs that lead people to lasting change. With each couple we host at the Chapel, a portion of their sale is donated to a charitable organization. And for this Chapel we raised a total of $1200 in support of Mission Possible.

Our couples got to enjoy their Chapel making intimate memories with their loved ones, and luckily we had the incredible Alex Law (from Lucky Rabbit Creative ) capturing every precious moment. After experiencing all of the love and beauty in the Chapel, our couples ventured outside The Wallace for their one on one portrait session. You can feel all the love between our couples in their gorgeous portraits captured by the ocean, the pier, and the Vancouver city line. Check out some sneak peeks of our beautiful couples below!
